Do I love monsters? Why yes. Yes I do. Even ones like Harpies and Sirens.
This silly little thing has actually kind of been in the works for ages. Those who have been around my gallery for a few years probably recognize my Dancing Wings: [link]
That I modified up for this costume, by adding sleeves and such. The wings also now have archaeopteryxish wing-talons (Because I do love dinosaurs, yes indeed) and I gave myself some little harpy-feets: [link]
I figure, I’ve hurt myself in all sorts of monster costumes, why not try the awkward angled stilts used in films like the American Godzilla Remake and Dog Soldiers and such? This, friends, is how I learned I am even clumsier than I thought. (Little tip: Do not practice walking on angled stilts on a gravel driveway) Anyway, I also made myself a little feathered bird tail, which looks a bit too floofy from the side like this, but oh well.
Anyway, I suppose this costume would be called a half-suit? I dunno… but it was designed to be a smallish costume that I could easily transport to various cons, with crushable parts that can be smushed into suitcases, and would be easy to put on and take off in a hurry. I guess that makes this the polar opposite to Princess: [link]
, which was actually the costume I was working on when I first slapped the basis of the harpy feet together out of scrap lumber and PVC pipe from the studio.
I suppose I ought to post other costumes I’ve done sometime soon. And maybe I ought to finish the Faun I started, and the Steampunk Costume the Lycanthropy Case: [link]
will go to.
Anyway, thanks for looking, take care guys!
This costume is retired. I have a bad knee and this is just too rough on it.
