Chapter 16 A Wish Granted The moment Metallia was truly gone, the spirits of Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus disappeared, and Princess Serenity fell over backwards. Before she hit the ice, her white gown and gold and pearl jewelry transformed back into Sailor Moon's clothes and jewels. She made no attempt to catch herself, because she had no strength left to do anything. She simply fell over and laid there, staring up at the clear sky. Chapter 15 The Silver Crystal's Power For several long minutes, the shaking in the Negaverse base grew in strength until the empty rooms began collapsing in on themselves, burying all traces of the people that once lived there. The nearby mountains shook so badly that multiple avalanches occurred, snow and debris crashing all around the valley. At last, the ground cracked, letting beams of purple light escape into the freezing air. A massive, dark shape that looked like a closed flower bud burst out of the cracked ground, sending rocks flying, and once the whole thing was out – all thirty or so feet of it – the quake stopped. The dark purple petals fell open gracefully to reveal the towering shape of the fully revived Queen Metallia. She was at least twenty eight feet tall with white skin and green hair that was floating over her head like she was underwater. Her lips were purple, her eyes blood red like her dress, and her long nails were black. Queen Beryl's crown was gone

Chapter 14 Metallia Rises Prince Endymion once again froze mid-swing, his eyes locked on the golden locket Sailor Moon was holding out to him. She knelt on the floor, the star locket in her cupped hands, watching him with wide, teary eyes. The melody played sweetly, and the light the locket emitted created a small, bright place in the dark room, almost as if it was an actual star. She had never forgotten how he reacted to the locket and its song at the lake, and had brought the necklace along just in case. Now a faint hope fluttered in her chest as something began to flicker deep in Endymion's eyes. “Please, try to remember,” she pleaded. “I'm Princess Serenity, of the Moon Kingdom. Long ago we loved each other. Chapter 13 A Prince Found Sailor Moon ran until she reached the last slope that would lead her to the Negaverse's base. The air was heavy with negative energy, and the sky was growing steadily darker. Sailor Moon paused for a moment to brace herself for what was to come, her final battle with Queen Beryl, the monster who helped destroy the Moon Kingdom and who sent the monsters that had killed her friends. So this is the Negaverse's base. . .Amy, Raye, Lita, Mina, I'll do my best, until the very end, I swear! Sailor Moon thought solemnly as the wind made her long hair billow. In her throne room, Queen Beryl was still watching everything through her crystal ball. She was a little annoyed that Sailor Moon had escaped the Doom Girls, but the deaths of the other four Sailor Scouts cheered her up greatly, and the idea of having an in-person view of the moon brat's final demise was appealing. Chapter 12 Mars Makes Her Stand Sailor Moon's head was swimming. The five of them had been through so many battles with the Negaverse, faced so many powerful monsters, and had rarely gotten any injuries worse than scrapes and/or bruises. Now three of her friends were dead – dead! How had things gone so wrong? She didn't even feel the cold anymore, or the ground under her feet. Her mind and heart were too shredded to care about anything but what she had lost. She might not even still be running if Sailor Mars wasn't leading her by the hand. The ground sloped upward for a ways before leveling out again, and they had a clear view of the column of dark energy rising from the Negaverse's base. They also had a clear view of the icy tombs of their friends. Sailor Mars stopped running, and Sailor Moon stopped as well, rubbing the tears from her eyes. Chapter 11 Mercury and Venus Lost “No. . .” Sailor Moon whispered, her mind refusing to accept the truth before her eyes. For a moment, nothing seemed real, nothing about this could be real. It had to be a fake, another trick, because Lita couldn't be dead; she was only fourteen years old, and she couldn't be dead! “Lita, please don't die!!” Sailor Moon screamed, her voice echoing across the miles of snow. Sailor Mars gently pulled Sailor Moon back down to the ground, where the blonde girl crumpled to her knees and sobbed for several minutes. The other Sailors gathered around her and wept as well, none of them even noticing the snow against the skin of their legs, until Sailor Venus finally pulled herself together and turned to their leader. “There's. . .nothing else we can do here,” she said quietly as she stood back up. “We should go.” Sailor Mars and Sailor Mercury stood as well and they started walking, but Sailor Moon remained where she was on the ground. Chapter 10 The Last Youma “And there they are,” Queen Beryl said as she watched an image of the Sailor Scouts trudging through the snow in her crystal ball. A small smirk played at the corner of her mouth. Very soon, Queen Metallia would be fully revived, and there was nothing those little pests could do to stop it. In spite of the repeated failures to capture the Imperium Silver Crystal, Queen Metallia had managed to regain her strength by stealing energy from the world around her and from the sun, which was part of what was causing the black spots. She had even managed to siphon off little bits of the Silver Crystal's energy every time Sailor Moon healed a human-turned-youma. The only trouble was, with the loss of Malachite and with Endymion still being remade into a permanently loyal Negaverse Prince, Queen Beryl had been out of warriors to fight on her behalf. Chapter 9 Saying Goodbye “The dark spots on the sun continue to expand at an unusually fast pace. Natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and hurricanes, believed to be caused by this phenomena, are occurring all over the world. The National Weather Bureau are calling this 'an unprecedented atmospheric event,' and released a statement stating. . .” the news reporter's voice was played over images of the changing sun, cracked streets, storm-swept beaches, and smoking volcanoes. Luna and Artemis stood on the sidewalk in front of the shop the TV was displayed in, listening carefully. They both boasted bandages on several of their legs and around their bodies, but they were healing quickly; in only a day they had regained enough strength to go out on their own, at least briefly. Artemis frowned at the TV as it switched back to an image of the sun being covered by black spots. “It's a good thing the girls are going tonight, cause it looks like we're out of time,”

Chapter 8 Malachite's Last Stand The story done, the Sailor Scouts found themselves back in the ruins again, looking at the ghost or hologram or whatever it was of Queen Serenity, who smiled gently up at them. They all looked around for a moment; the ruins, which seemed strange and creepy before, now ached with sadness for them. Everything was so familiar; they could tell there were places they had loved to run and play as small children, places they would study and picnic as they grew. This place had been home, but it was long gone. “Be brave, girls, and trust in your power and each other. Serenity, know that you're always in my heart,” Queen Serenity said. “The Imperium Silver Crystal has more power than you've yet seen, and will follow your heart. Chapter 7 The Face of the Enemy Princess Serenity left Prince Endymion waiting outside the ballroom as she went to find her mother and tell her everything that was happening. Not only did Queen Serenity need to be warned of a potential future attack, but she also held the Imperium Silver Crystal and the Crescent Moon Wand, which they were going to need to stop this Metallia. She looked around the ballroom, but her mother wasn't there, so she went up the stairs to see if the Queen was mingling with guests in another room. She walked down a hallway with crystalline lights on the walls and thick carpet underfoot, and she could hear talking and laughter everywhere. It felt strange to be carrying news of war in such a place, almost unreal. But even as she thought that way, she heard a rumbling from outside. She stopped in her tracks, cold terror flooding her veins, and ran for the nearest balcony door. She threw the glass door open and stepped outside just in time to see hell rain
