Deviants

Hello!

Well, this year has been a bit of a rollercoaster and seems to be quickly disappearing. As it approaches November it's time to awaken this group from hibernation and see if there is any interest in hosting a NaNoEmo this year?

What is NaNoEmo?

NaNoEmo is a fun emoticon challenge hosted every November to match up with NaNoWriMo in the literature community. The main purpose of the challenge is to encourage emoticonists to make emotes during the month of November.
This year marks the 8th year of NaNoEmo :dummy: . When the event started, the most common goal set was to make 30 emotes in 30 days. However the challenge is entirely flexible allowing you to set an alternative target which better suits your time or art style. Whether this is one day, one a week, or just one in the entire month - no goal is too big or too small.

Taking Part

If you aim to take part in NaNoEmo then join the group and leave a comment on the journal below to let us know that you're interested.
Once November starts, you can start submitting emotes to your account, and adding them to the 'featured' folder at NaNoEmo so other group members to check them out. Please note that entries must be new emoticons uploaded during November, and will need to be approved by a group admin before appearing.
If we receive enough entries we will aim to do a recap every 1-2 weeks to show off a range of the brilliant pieces submitted. At the end of the month there will then be an additional news article to highlight some of the pieces made by each entrant.
We look forward to seeing some new entries this year!

Kinda. We normally host one event a year in November, sometimes with a second event in the summer months. So most of the time it is in hibernation until the next event occurs.

NanoWrimo (the inspiration behind this group) works the same way.

The difference is that NanoWrimo is for writers and takes place in October instead. It's a challenge to write a 50,000-word novel, from start to finish, in only a month. Some people choose to write poetry instead though, or several short stories. ;)
