Commissions are open! I'll do a drawing for you! Just note me your request and we'll work out the details. Information on my prices and the like can be found here.

Concerning this drawing, I wanted to get some actual art out for the announcement, but I didn't want to do anything too complicated. Mermaids are simple, right? Somewhere along the way I decided I wanted to give her a tophat, and figured I should at least make an attempt to do the steampunk thing if I were giving a mermaid a tophat. Hard to do when you don't wear anything. A gear and a watch make it steampunk... right?

Conveniently placed bubbles! To look right I needed to spread them around the drawing as well. Also, most people give mermaids a dolphin fin. When a woman moves her hips seductively, it's side-to-side, though, not forward and back, that's just weird. So the fin should be upright for the side-to-side movement, right? So I gave her a shark fin instead. Also, I always have trouble with puckered lips, but these came out nicely. I actually completely forgot to use the reflected lighting on this drawing (I'm still getting in the habit of doing it), but realized that all that's below her is a dark abyss, so the reflected light doesn't look right anyway.

It was a pretty simple drawing. Took two days or so. I kind of want to put up a tutorial/step-by-step of this one as well.

(Should I put a mature content warning on this?)

edit: Many people have seen this as the wallpaper I use, so I made some minor edits to make it more wallpaperable. Also uploaded a larger version which will let me enable prints! I'll probably never sell a print, but hey, nice to have the option open, right?

Nice Job. Though at first it seems strange, very quickly everything just falls in place to form a very awesome picture.

This is actually pretty cool. I really like the goggles. I also like how you gave her a shark fin. 'Tis a very nice picture, indeed.

And now excuse me while I go raid my room for money.
