My Trip Back to Canada 4 by naha-def My Trip Back to Canada 4 by naha-def
I carried around a notebook for my two week trip to Toronto in June 2011, and hope to make a handful of single panel strips to show the feelings I had coming back to my 'home' after living in Japan for eight years.

I hate sports. I especially hate hockey. I like exercise though.

I have to say, I love people riding rascals, and I loved drawing this guy on a rascal. Fun times! But this was Hell to frame properly. It really would have worked better as a multi-panel thing. Oh well. I want all these panels to work together, so I need to stick to single panel strips.

That's a Toronto Maple Leafs shirt, by the way.

This is me clicking on random pictures in your gallery again! :D

I'm the same about sports - don't play any, always was crap at it but there's a couple I sort of follow. But not as actively as any show I follow. More like, I don't get bored when it comes up on the news and actually try to understand the rules. :P

I have an antagonistic relationship to sports... I honestly wish I could enjoy them.  It would have made life much easier.

I don't mind this comic, but it was a lot of schadenfreude on my part :o

I have a theory about this. Many teachers (and all gym coaches) concentrate on motivating students that show promise. So if you have a clumsy kid (which I was) or a kid who's more interested in reading, drawing and writing than running and jumping (as I was and I assume you were as a kid as well) that kid never gets any positive reinforcement when doing sports. I mean doing something you're not good at is one thing, that CAN be enjoyable (like people sing in showers while being crap singers) but doing something you're not good at, being blamed for it and being unable to change the situation much should make you hate it for the rest of your life...

Of course there can be other reasons but that one seems to be very common.

I hate sports and I'm not too keen on supporters, but I'd be lying if I pretended that I don't have a soft spot for the local football team. :D

Oh man, I love hockey. And the Maple Leafs. I'm right there with that guy in the ... what'd you call it? Rascal? Living in the UK, I'm not used to inventive names for things. Here they're called 'mobility scooters', because it's a scooter that keeps you mobile. Creative, huh?

You're right! Typing rascal into Wikipedia and it leads to the mobility scooter page.

I bet you two would have lots to talk about ;)

Hahaha, oh yes. We could talk about ... um. Stuff. Like, sticks. And pucks. And, um ... man, I'm a terrible hockey fan. :(

There's nothing wrong with sports :) I myself don't really like competitive sports though.

And I love how you mentioned this panel, xD never thought about it that way!

Thanks.

Nothing wrong with sports; playing them, and especially watching them is just something I don't enjoy. To each their own ;)
