79th Street Station pt. 78 - Edited

The thumping of the overly eager drummer duking it out with the bass player made the entire mansion vibrate and shiver. Katie snuck out a backdoor of the main hall looking for a restroom that didn't pound the air out of her lungs. She lost her ways within a few seconds. The marble of the wall, bannister, and stairs turned out to be actual marble. Most mansions sported faux marble inexpertly painted on to plaster walls. Or even plywood walls. This was marble. Cold, smooth, and bore all the hallmarks of a skilled artisan. The upper part of the stairs was illuminated by an elaborate lamp suspended above the door. The lower part of the stairs seemed to be unilluminated. Surely, a lightsource was to be found down the stairs. She felt no urge to seek it out. The skizm of light and darkness intrigued her. The six glasses of champagne and the four longdrinks played their part, of course. A small part, but a part nonetheless. For a few moments, her mind wandered along the filaments of a

Time

There once was a wizard who mastered time. This wizard was in Love. They loved their partner so much that Everytime they made a single mistake, they would rewind the clock. And correct their mistake. One could argue that because those futures were erased; perhaps much larger mistakes were made. But in this one; their partner had a perfect life, with a perfect Wizarding Spouse that anyone would envy. One could argue that; because those reactions were erased; the larger mistakes was trying to mold somebody into a toy for yourself. That wizard died for their Love; and the partner, with a perfect life, and a perfect spouse, kept in eternal captivity. A person can tell when their decisions, and their choices, and their time has been stolen from them. The partner said; "I had to control my own thoughts; because as soon as I thought one thing; the future changed. The Wizard changed. And now; I am free to exist as nature intended." - Anon

The Heir of the Tuning Fork Part 2

Chapter 1: The Newcomer The air above the Sea of Glass was different than the air in the deep desert. Here, near the edges of the Fort, it smelled of sulfur, sun-baked stone, and the distant, metallic tang of the great airship docks. Sunniva banked hard to the left, her wings catching a thermal rising from the obsidian outcrops. Below her, the Fort looked less like a castle and more like a jagged crown of stone hammered into the earth. There were no banners of kings or queens here; only the utilitarian grey of Captain Halloway’s outpost. To the humans, it was a frontier defense. To Sunniva and the surviving desert Kobolds, it was the first place that had ever truly felt like sanctuary. As a member of the Captain’s Guard, Sunniva’s mornings were spent as the eyes in the sky. She scanned the horizon for the shimmering heat-wraiths of the Drow or the shifting sands that signaled a desert predator. Today, however, her eyes were fixed on the silver speck emerging from the clouds:

Waiting My Turn

I wake up. I hate what happened next. I check my phone, I missed another friend’s 3am text. A new notification to fill me with dread, What happened to my friend who was happy yesterday? My hope of a better day became worse instead, Was it so hard for them to stay? One by one they drop like flies, Where the hell did they even go? Each call and message I receive, I pray their deaths are a joke. When do I have to go to the funeral? When do I have to see the coffin? My tears should be running out soon, since I’m having to cry so often. Can God stop taking my friends from me? How many bodies does he want me to burn? I’m begging you to set me free, For the love of everything, let it be my turn. You can send me to Heaven, You can send me to Hell, I don’t care anymore, I still hear the funeral bells. The last one was my best friend, how could they do this to me? When will this nightmare end? Please God, let the next one be me. I wonder what heaven is like, I wonder how they

Year of the Snake 2025

Sequel to this story from Year of the Dragon 2024   Snow coated the mountain tops. Chao Feng ran up the mountain path as it rose even above the clouds. He had lived here as long as he could remember, so the altitude did not steal his breath. He wore a golden yī-fu with dual dragons on it, one red for his father and one blue for his mother. In the sparse trees up the mountain pass, a shadow passed from tree to tree. The limbs shook as a figure ran on them. It got ahead of him, and when he made it to a point where the cliffs flattened to a beautiful overlook of the valley below. The figured landed before him. Shorter, though with a powerful stance and a monkey tail swished behind them. The mountains blocked the sun, so it kept the figure shadowy. It took a stance to fight. Chao took up a defensive stance. They threw a punch. Chao deflected the blow and struck back. The figure ducked under it and kicked his face. Chao took the hit and struck back. The human teens hit the opponent.

The First Great Quest (Chapter 1)

Chapter 1 The year is 485 CE (Corvus Era). Far on the Eastern most boarder of the Empire of Tygaria lies a single small town known as Phandalin. This little village, out of the way of the wider world, nestled just on the edge of the wilds of the Karpathia mountains, would appear unassuming, simple, and pleasant. The town lies within the province of Lord Marcus Avem. Believed to be a direct descendant of the Lark himself, right hand of the Great Raven Lord, all who lived in the domain of Avem’s family considered themselves blessed and fortunate, for the Avem family are wise, prosperous, and wealthy. And of those towns and villages belonging to the Lord Avem, Phandalin is by far one of the most quaint and modest villages of them all. But Phandalin has seen many strange things over the centuries. Given its close location to the badlands to the east of Tygaria, countless travelers, adventurers, armies, and creatures have passed through this town, merely passing through as they make their

Vampire Confrontation

The sun was slowly setting as David Adamson made his way down the sidewalk. He was walking home from the house of his friend Vincent Ardeleanu, at least David thought Vincent was his friend. Now, the human was not so sure. The reason David was walking home was that the two had wound up having a bit of a verbal tussle. It turned out that Vincent may have been using his vampire powers to help persuade David to be Vincent’s test subject for his experiments and studies on humans. David had always wondered why would agree to go along with Vincent’s plans despite knowing what was coming. He had just assumed that it was due to wanting to be a good friend by helping Vincent out with the latter’s research. However, apparently there were other influences at hand. Vincent had conveniently neglected to mention that power when showing off his other ones to David. The human had only found out about the vampire ability of ‘persuasion’ from Vincent’s father. It involves the vampire staring

Not Without a Reason

Fandom: Transformers, my dear au of idw comics. But it's reads like original! Without knowledge about canon universe Rating: R Gen, no love plot Characters: Humanization!!! Killshot, victim and aggressor Warnings: torture, hints of 🍇 If you have trigger, don't press with your finger Genre: dark, angst and psychological drama. That a R/R, can you guess? The girl walked along the wall. The lamps glowed dimly, casting the corridor in a deep blue gloom. She moved quietly and stealthily, like a beast. Which she was. Or rather, not even half of what she was. Killshot had immovable, iron ears like a wolf's, a steel jaw with fangs, heightened reflexes, and other physiological modifications. Her hair, raven-wing black and cropped at the nape, was unkempt and shaggy. Her stealthy gait was, first and foremost, a habit honed from her service in intelligence. She didn't want to leave that department. Though now, she was long since more than just a scout. A saboteur, still a corporal, a

TIME

“You’re a little late, dear! If you had come home one minute later, Mummy would have been very upset with you!! Do tell me what kept you so long. These past four months I have been teaching you about the importance of time and how important it is for you come home straight after school. Just straight after school. I’m disappointed in you right now, I must admit.”      He barely gets his coat and boots off before she shoves him into the kitchen where his hot meal is waiting on the table. Mummy’s been acting strange and he can’t figure out what’s different. He watches her flit about the kitchen mumbling as she fills a glass with ice cold milk and sets it on the table for him. She wipes imaginary spots of dirt from the countertop, stove, and fridge before quietly folding herself into the chair next to his – her finger gently tapping on the table. He can tell she is politely annoyed by the way her foot shakes under the table. This has been going on for a few weeks. And he doesn’t know what
