I have been making a mess with pencil and paper for as long as I can remember.
At the age of 7 I decided to draw portraits of my stuffed animals and over the following years built a solid drawing technique foundation through observation, practice and the occasional art-course-ran-by-some-artist my parents sent me to. Mainly because of these courses and regular clashes with my art teachers it took years until I started taking drawing seriously as something that was part of me and not something I did because others thought I should do it.
I have worked with almost any medium there is - as you can see from my gallery. But my love is traditional art, especially charcoal, graphite, acrylics and colored pencils.
I am consciously choosing to limit my social media presence to the absolute minimum - I am not on Instagram, TikTok etc as it burns me out quicker than I can draw a horse head. But please do stop by my website www.nadinbirke.com and my good old blog!

At the moment I am working on an idea for exclusive content... coming soon!
Don't be afraid to be who God created you to be.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
