"All That We See" (in Studio)
Acrylic & Mixed Media on Canvas
48 x 48 inches
Nadia Janjua

"All That We See" is part of the painting series entitled, “The Taking & The Returning”, which is a deeply spiritual series originating from the Artist’s faith and practice of Islam. Each painting uses the language of color, and applies symbolism through materials and textures to explore a visceral reflection on what happens to the heart when we stop chasing the temporal world, and seek the constant one. Though the art is rooted in Artist’s particular faith, the spiritual tradition of seeking enlightenment through freedom from the material world is one that remains constant for many cultures and faiths. Whether our definition of the “constant” resides in earthly love, Divine remembrance, or Divine Love, the gestures and motions emerging from each canvas are open to multiple interpretations, encouraging viewers to experience their own form of spiritual awakening.
