"Still Standing" 36 x 60 inches. Oil on canvas. My inspiration for this painting was originally schizophrenia, and how the affected person's perception changes to begin seeing things that no one else sees. Since this project began, the painting has come to represent something so much more personal to me. the relationship between Evolution and intelligence. (The Owl in the left eye represents wisdom). Most paradigms are either one or the other. Either way, life grows when the conditions are right. Newness happens in the presence of death. Nothing lasts forever. In sudden moments, here and there, you see the face of God.
Amazing!!! I love your art !
This is terrific! I especially love that bird used to complete the eye. Very creative!
The owl in the left eye. Someone once told me the left eye represents the eye that sees creatively or intuitively.
Very nicely done.
i really love this painting. It would be amazing to see it up close and personal and to examine your technique and depth. Amazing! Well done!
You have incredible inner resources
I love your work
The details of the leaves on the ground, the grass, and the roots of the tree stumps are fantastic.
Wow, this looks pretty amazing!
Beautiful and magical!!

Wonderful!!! Great idea!!! *___________*
Beautifully done. the image in itself even without the optical illusion is wonderful and symbolic (right title too) and the face is stunningly done. Hope you are proud. your description is also eloquent and important. I like statement peices and really like this
I'm grateful that I stuck with it on this painting. I came close to abandoning it a few times. If it wasn't for the encouragement that I got on my digital color comp, I probably would have. In the oil version I veered off track and got lost but I kept going just to see what would happen. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.
BC's lower mainland
awesome!, where in canada are you?
Thank you for checking out my traditional paintings and for all your comments
I really like the fact that this is a traditional painting, must have taken a lot of time to make the branches look as natural as you did!
Very good work! Great details!
