So I am preparing for Monstercon. I've been working on some prints for it and i'm quite happy with the way a few of them have turned out. One of them won't be fully finished in time unfortunately, but I think I'll have a good turn out none the less for good Ole Cannon Canvas Comics. Lucas (our self appointed PR director) has been hard at work and doing everything he can to not only make sure we're recognized in our local area and then some, but also to keep me on track on my art. I really wanted to have MAB done in time for MC, but due to the time constraints of my job I couldn't do it... so I quit my job. not b/c I wanted to pursue art mind you that's the secondary reason. the primary reason was because my boss I worked for was a tyrant and I know people say that about their bosses, but it's true just ask Dmantz he knows. anyways, Monstercon 2013 will be held this weekend In taylors SC, on the Furman University Campus right outside of Greenville SC. tickets are $15 a day and there will be much muy things to do please come out and support for more info go to www.monstercon.org. thanks true believers.

Well, i did it. a fully made 24 page comic. The title is called "atropos" ti's a kind of survivor horror space thing similar to, but not ripping off deadspace. i'll upload it soon after i tweak it and add the letters again realized after staying up for two days straight i didn't save the letters, but at least the moderator of the challenge got them and that's all that matters... or did i save them?i think i saved the jpg's but not the psd's... idk i can't think anymore. i'm running off of only 6 hours of sleep and i need to go back to bed , but my problem is if the sun is up i can't stay asleep. ok guys look for the uploads soon!

okay so, living in my house still thank god i have a place at all. fighting off fleas, doing commissions for locals (since.. you know i have no internet... still...) and trying to scrape out a living as best as i can.

met a really great writer a few weeks back and have been working on a comic strip with him since. i've gotten two pages in between work and sleep and i'm wondering why do i even bother going to work other than i need a paycheck. idk how long i'll work this job. prolly only long enough to get back on my feet and get the things i need to finish my art such an art tablet a new computer since the one that was built refuses to work half the time. and in the middle of all that. still working on getting divorced. i hate that word... i hate the situation worse though. at any rate. too many things i want to do and too many people telling me i can't. still... prolly for the rest of my life.

fukidol.

I'm really trying to throw myself into the mix again. been doing alot of art for a friend of mine woh's been pushing me to do better and really pursue what i'm good at. not even really good at, but great at. i'm done with telling myself that i could be better or i'm not good enough. i know i'm good enough now. ther will always be that room for improvement, but i'm ready to start. i think that if I had truly knuckled down and started sooner in life pursuing this path i might not be in the right place.
Not to say I'm in the best of places right now anyways, but I'm deffinately going to be in a better place soon. The sad part is it's bitter sweet. currently going through some really bad drama with my wife as it turns i may or may not be single soon. i'm still holding onto that vague hope that she'll be my same sweet wife i married three years ago almost to the day. however, due to unforeseeable circumstances i doubt that will happen. That being said i've really been throwing myself into my art and i'm about to TOSS myself into the art community again and try my best to break through.
I don't know if anyone out there even reads these posts. I rarely do, but for any of the community out there that reads my journals when i do post, if you have any advice my ears are open and ready to listen.
LOOK FOR MY NEW UPLOADS SOON THERE'S GOING TO BE A BUTT LOAD OF THEM.

Soooooo i got let go at my job recently. Not the best that ever happened to me, but at the same time it's also  the best thing that ever happened to me because i hated that job. i wasn't good at it and it was only a matter of time before i was going to quit... so, that being said i'm getting back to what i've wanted to do all my life and that's illustrate. If you like my work think i'm good and you'd like something done let me know and we'll discuss something right now my prices are very reasonable and i've got ALOT of time to work on it all. Hope to see some of you guys at the upcoming comic conventions and i hope i'll be making it big soon. until then... *opens up a newspaper* i'm going to look for a job.
later!

In all seriousness i know i've been VERY negative lately about a few things most of it is stuff about devart, but it goes MUCH deeper than that now. it's moved onto cartoon network. most importantly the crappy shows they're showing now. my example is "6teen", "johnny test", and "total drama island."

first of all let's talk artwork. as far as art goes for these three shows 6teen is VERY well animated, but it's subject matter is lacking i'll get to that later. Total drama island is reminiscent of such shows as Dexter's Laboratory and samurai jack (which were awesome shows at the time). Johnny test.... meh, it's ok the show really gets on my nerves and isn't that fun to watch visually. it's simple animation and necessary for time, and budget sake, but in most cases with such cartoons as Johnny Test they sacrifice quality in animation for a show that is already lacking in story quality. let's face it it's not really well written and his name has little to do with the story lines they put him through. i will not argue this point. first of all this name is play off of Johnny Quest and is a terrible parody. the BEST parody of Johnny Quest is the Venture Bros. which is also an excellent parody of The Hardy Boys.
(more examples to back this up later.)

let's move on to 6teen. a canadian made cartoon which is... well... let's just say it's really nicely animated, but forces our children to think in Stereotypes. the jock, the Rastafarian, the skater/stoner the preppy girl the sporty girl the goth chick (who isn't a goth she just shops at "Hot Topic"). the redeeming factor to these stereo types however is the thought of unity. as in all the stereotypes being able to hang out in one mall, excluding the geeky kid who's into starwars and works in the local radio shack. they still pick on that kid. what really gets me about that show is the sheer grossness AND the more mature themes you see in it. one episode the uber popular jock boy got a job working at the "Victoria's Secret" where he kept peeping at girls changing in the changing room. soooooooo we're teaching our kids through cartoons that it's ok to watch be peeping toms? not cool. there's also ALOT more of the sexual references that not many ppl will be able to catch. I'm just not sure that i agree with some of their choice of story arcs. i mainly look at these kids as posers.

and now finally we come to total drama island the name pretty much sums it up it's not a particularly terrible show, but it's just as bad as most of the reality shows we see on tv nowadays. basically it's a dumbed down version of such shows. It's funny, but it's getting to the point where writers think gross=funny.
