Nice one. Which Fight Sim is that - CoD... !? The FM rendering and camouflage looks a bit smoother than once in IL2 FB, so I guess its one of the later Sim... :)

Thanks for the reply.  The image is actually a 3D rendered plane with a photo background.  Rendering the model lets you pick the angle, lighting, skin, and is much more detailed than game captures, but the games are definitely catching up.

Very nice.

Those clouds are beautiful, and the 109 is very detailed at least to me. I like the bit of dirt and grim on it, showing she has seen a lot of use.

Is this picture based off any particular battle Galland fought. I don't think this is the BoB, because I'm fairly certain those are British bombers in the background.

I think, some details are better - skinning, however, isn't the same joy as once cause you can't create any custom skins due to the traffic.
I didn' play it at all, so I got no comparsion to the old FM/DM, but I think that it may be a long way for them, to reach the latest perfection within all the modeling done in IL2 1946 - to say nothing of all the late war aircraft available there... !

I did want it to represent a BoB scenario, but nothing specific.  The background bombers are German Junkers Ju 88's, it is hard to tell unless you zoom in tight.  Thanks for the feedback.

Huh, I could have sworn those were Blenheim bombers. Maybe i need to get my eyes checked! XD

No problem. I'm reading "The Most Dangerous Enemy" by Stephen Bungay, and my interest in the Battle of Britain is sky high right now.

quick question, the spitfire has vapor trails - how did you draw those in photoshop?
N0T3R's avatar
I've had those trails for years, I just keep reusing them. Unfortunately I don't remember how I made them. I think it was just a thin line of white, I erased the corners on one end to make a starting point of the vapor trail, then duplicate the trail to another layer, make it wider and reduce the transparency, merge the two layers, then bend them or distort them to create the curve and imperfections. Guess I remember more than I realize. Hope that helps.
