ok... did some testing with anaglyph 3D photography. the effect is there, but it isn't what you call 'great'. maybe the object isn't the best for 3D photography.

to view this image correctly, you need anaglyph glasses (3D-glasses)

with two shots. distance aprox 20cm. you can't achieve any 3d-effect with just one picture :)

Curious about the methodology behind this.

Have you ever tried doing cross-eye stereograms?

i know about it. but at least for me it's quite hard to achieve the 3d effect. it's a bit easier with photos in upright format though.

i had the idea of 3d-photography when i saw some stuff of the mars exploration rover.

Yeah, I've never had much luck w/ 'Magic Eye' type stuff either... and I can't remember the last time I wore 3D glasses.
