Gon

Gon are a dragon sub species, commonly known as the bulldogs of the dragon world. Stocky, strong and loyal, Gon make fantastic friends and companions. 

Gon are carnivores and though they can eat vegetable matter, they will always turn their noses up at such things if meat is available. Gon are fond of pack hunting to take down large prey. The are social and adhere to a pecking order, much like a wolf pack, but usually only during a hunt.

Gon are intelligent creatures, though lack natural talents for magic like most other dragon species. Gon can learn magic given time. Gon can not fly, but with a large barrel chest, they have tremendous lung capacity and an enlarged heart, allowing them to run long distances. A gons body is heavy, with dense bones and heavy skin. Gon are brawlers, preferring to throw themselves headlong into a fight rather than think things through. Its not uncommon for gon to be covered in scars (that they tend to show off proudly). The average gon stands three feet at the shoulder, though some larger gon have been seen. The also can weigh close to a ton, due to their near unbreakably dense bone structure. Gon like to travel and often sell their services as body guards for caravans and expeditions.
