Description
Next art piece for the Dark Omen project series.
Cazis the Necromancer, who looks like the undead himself due to an experiment going wrong.
Now immortal due to the blessings of the Goddess of Corruption, the gift from her means his necromancy is taken to greater heights but Cazis is not really the type to raise a giant army of the undead. Not really an evil Necromancer.
like the drawing art, though backstory has some kind of painfull mistakes from a mythology perspective.
corruption can't make one immortal for corruption is by it's very design the exact opposite of things like that.
it's the opposite of strength, freedom, creation, existance, and thus also immortality.
Note this next stuff is not meant as in a offensive way, more as in the hope to keep you away from corruption. I have no problem with people serving some goddes or god of chaos, not even much with anyone serving one of evil, though I will fight against those last ones but I do understand and respect their purpose. but the corruption is nothing like that.
there is no immortal corrupted one, as the very definition of corruption is to end everything.
corruption also has no forms of magic or power or such, instead the way it creates effects is by weakening people, finding pains and weaknesses and exploiting them making problems bigger until one loses themselves and becomes emptyness only driven by hate and pain.
for people who are corrupted, or atleast partly corrupted you also have that effect of them being "soulles" in reality this however is more like their soul is emprisoned outside of them by how far broken the body and mind are, forced to watch and follow the body at a distance but unable to make it stop doing such evil.
in some cases some other beings like some forms of chaos and/or evil might be called or call themselves like corruption or will atleast respond if called upon like such. their reaction to that is more compareable to a kid playing pretend however, just for fun, like roleplaying(most powerfull dieties and such are very childish compared to modern day norms), but they certainly aren't the corruption. even evil has a reason, and has reasoning. chaos does even more. corruptions only reason to exist however is just to have a opposite for existance.
as even the void isn't as opposite from existance as the corruption.
and trust me you don't want to be mangling with corruption regardless of what or who you are.
corruption can only create a emptyness, but unlike the void or death, it doesn't allow you to go elsewhere or find rest, instead a corrupted one becomes pure pain and suffering with only a desire to destroy everything in existance.
Corrupted ones also don't last long, they will constantly destroy themselves. destroying others won't heal them, seeing the demise of others being faster than them just gives them false delusions.
there are only a few corrupted ones which one might concider immortal, though generally all of them are just people not fully allen to corruption who still have a chance of being healed and saved. and the one exception to that is the corrupted one himself. but he isn't immortal either. he was kind of before he created the corruption, but he to died, even though in this world that moment would still be concidered in the future, but he died by his own hand kind of. the moment corruption thought he had won and thought he had destroyed something, like fire it reignited, as set to ethernally happen, and as a result corruption hadn't killed the one he tried to kill, but instead had killed himself for now his story was over.
the full stories are generally far more complex however.
corruptions origin dates from a being which couldn't handle people and things being able to feel and think, so claimed he wanted to end all pain and suffering. the moment he made the corruption those things he claimed to fight against instead where they things he would create and use as weapons. his and the corruptions goal where to try to end all of existance, since as long as existance existed things could be, which meant chaos. as even possibility is a form of chaos. and chaos means possibility for contrast, which means one can feel love, and joy. which are the things the corrupted ones hate most, for those are the mirror of pain and suffering.
corrupted ones are ones who failed to understand the value of things, people who had to much weakness in them, and a weak mind. or ones who had some problems which allowed a corrupted one to make them as weak as them.
also I called the corrupted one a he, technically dieties and such don't really have a gender or can take on different forms. atleast when looking at those tiers of them. ofcource the corrupted one isn't a diety or such. I call it a he, since that was most often used to reffer to him in his origin, though then again one might also see it a as a she or such, doesn't really matter in those places.
so it would be beter to call it the goddes or god of chaos, chaos would actually fit the character, and actually is much more likely to make one immortal, though technically, the one doing so most is existance, or the writer of the stories happening in this world. technically some others as well, some forms of death also allow one to chose to be immortal, though the person has to be in a state where they understand it's meaning, and most people can't handle that. and even then, a immortal typically still "dies", if not then they aren't concidered living. though form of "death" generally is called more like ascending. as at a certain point one has to let go of the physical world to grow further,
also note beings looking like that what humans call scary don't need to be from some dark force.
even light, especially light is forced to see the darkness, and the balance of things. even the white one/great one has had forms like such, that didn't make it a bad thing.
I have met people who looked like that, and didn't have a speck of evil or corruption inside of them.
one could be made like that even by the great will/creator.
this world we are in now is like a dream, blink once and all people and things you knew might be gone, turned to dust. even if you don't blink, you will just end up seeing all around you rise and then fall, grow and then wither. that's the nature of this world, which allows us to learn many things which otherwise couldn't be learned. even things which seem dark tend to have good reasons in the end. walking this to its end and multiple times longer, the only thing remaining in a world like this is memory and feeling. you can't keep a society stable, can't keep money, for that money will just cease to exist, and the society will fall. but that is the very reason to care about all the small things here.
meet the people in this world and befriend them not despite them only living for very short, but because of it.
learn to understand how things which fall and disapear don't truly do so as long as you took the path to care about them, learn about them and remember them.
I once met a girl who did bad things because she hoped it would allow her to find rest. all that because of her delusions telling her finding rest/nothingness was the way to escape from the pain and suffering she felt. and she wasn't even truly corrupted. kind of slightly affected by it, but barely. yet even then one can feel only pain and suffering. but it makes you unable of seeing any way out, so to get her out of it, I had the luck of her recognising me which made her talk to me, as she wouldn't talk to any human or such, as she kind of looked down upon them all, like as if upon beasts.(how humans look to those), but she talked to me, also because she feared me kind of. she told me "I just wanted to # so I could find rest" where # reffers to the bad thing she did.
it took me saying a single line to get her out of it, though won't name that line here, since there I also used feeling to communicate the meaning, and she should have known the intend of the words, if I say them without those they will sound very different, though the meaning came down to that even the one which she say as ethernally beyond her, didn't seek rest, but rather feared the nothingness.(note nothingness and death aren't the same)
also many people who are corrupted but are still clean enough to kind of think for themselves will generally always wish for their own destruction when they meet someone who seems much stronger to them.
so avoid corruption.
and after all corruption will fall soon anyway. and the only chance for the corrupted one to survive it, is if he(the corrupted one) loses. not sure what will happen to the other ones who where corrupted, as the corruption will fall then.
