This drawing was for a character exchange/challenge. Character copyright © Mette Krangnes. This was one of my first finished ditigal paintings. Drawn in pencil, painted in PSP.
She is very cute, she just needs a firmer hand with the shading. This picture doesn't really have a set light source--it's coming from every which way. Pick a direction and draw a little arrow on your sketchpad or something. Again, shadows on neck, boobs, and knees to make the forms appear three-dimensional. This time the inner side of her wings would also be dark. The colors you chose are good--red-orange and green have nice...vibe. There's a technical artsy term for it I can't remember at the moment. Um. Some art student I am.
Eh....I can't really take credit for the color choices. It's someone else's character, so I used her colors. I don't really now if I make good color choices. I've heard of the whole color wheel thing, but never really focused on it - trying to get a grasp of how to color things first, I guess. Thank you once again for the helpful tips.
! Love the colors! And her knees! Heh! She's just too cool!
Thanks...she was fun to draw. I always meant to draw more Gargoyles, I even had one of my own characters. I need to draw her again.
Aw I remember when you drew Mearl! hehehe.. she looks so good! you do really great poses. ^_~
Woooaah, it's Mearl!! And I didn't know you were on DA! **hugs** ^_^
Now thats my kind of woman! Dang that looks good. Once again the colors are super!
