The Pokemon Project: Kakuna by MysticWarriorDesign The Pokemon Project: Kakuna by MysticWarriorDesign
(Intended to be an ongoing series, so please 'WATCH'!  If you'd like to donate or sponsor a Pokemon, or  maybe appear in the series, let me know!)
(I'd love some help!  If you are a trainer, or know the inside scoop on some special things to see, tell me!  Or sponsor a 'photoshoot', see for more info!)
Also be sure to check other Pokemon in my Pokemon Project Folder mysticwarriordesign.deviantart…

"I've been thinking about it for a while.  I want to photograph Pokemon.  So, today, I decided to take a picture of the Kakuna that was set up in the Maple Tree outside.  I did a little research-
We all know Kakuna is the second stage of evolution for a Weedle.  The little guy crawls his way up a tree, cocoons himself on a branch, and grows until he's a Beedrill.  On closer inspection, you can really start to see his anatomy shaping under his hard shell!  From what I understand, if you upset it, it can still sting you, through the shell!  Also, I think it can actually see you- there are two dark bumpy patches on it's head, which are shaped like half-lid eyes.  I've seen it rumble when things go by, so I think it's still sensing the outside through there!"

Pokemon (c) Nintendo, etc.

Thank you!  Yeah, I wanted to try to do something better than just the single strand that you always see them hanging from in the anime- something that lets them hang iconically, but still seemed like a real bug's cocoon.

I appreciate you noticing and commenting!

Nice! I can't imagine how much work you must have put into this drawing.

THANK YOU!  That's such an awesome compliment!  I'm looking to do many more, so please 'watch', and keep an eye out!  (I'm also hoping to pick up some art patrons along the way, who might want to sponsor my 'journey'!)
