Twain ran away to the jungle to escape an abusive arranged marriage. He joined a pride with his son and daughter, Fendi and Riven, which he had with a rogue lion.

Hari's pride started out small, with just her, her mate Doa, Tiifu, Baliyo, Nuka, Dotty, their daughter Kumbuka, and Vitani, as well as their honorary member, Msitu. But soon, the pride grew. It started with Tandra, who was taken in by Nuka and Dotty after the passing of her roaming mother. Then Sophie was brought to the pride by Msitu after he found her wandering. Afterward, Adira and her son, Seristin, joined, followed by Leo and his daughter, Tamu, each fleeing with their child when their prides had been taken over. Kwame arrived next, having aged out of his own pride, with his triplets Nyeupel, Theluji, and Hekima appearing not long after, also having their pride taken over. Twain fled to the jungle and joined the pride with his son and daughter, Fendi and Riven, not long after. Fujo joined after being a long-time traveler, then a pair named Zarina and Hasnaa joined, followed by Kalahari, and finally Zuri visited the pride to spend time with her sister and introduce her newest son, Macheo.
