The palette is so different from what you usually do and it's a good thing. The night scene is somber and mysterious. The alien girl is full of energy and still graceful. There is a story going on here. Is she racing to the space port so she can steal a ship and fallow the rocket we see escaping into the sky? Who or what is on the rocket that's so important she has to exert so much energy?

The over all composition is good and thoughtful.

I like seeing you use the entire figure in your work.

Me? On a personal level, this has to be one of my favorites. It really tells a story without hitting you over the head. Good Work

She has a great face. I love her strong features and twinkly eyes. My only real critique on this image is it needs more contrast. Stronger darks are needed. Right now she appears to have a blue fog/mist coloring her face. Play with the color variations in photoshop. Maybe upping the yellow a bit will warm the flesh tones.

Sorry the critique is so short. The rules insist on 100 words or more. But to be honest, this is a sweet and personal photo/portrait and doesn't need that much punch it up a bit.

There is an old rule attributed to Arther Rackham, "if it don't work in Black & White, it won't work in color!"

You are right about the frame. When I can, it will be nice to distress it.

There are a lot of things I would like to do with the image. Play with her hair, do some texture on his coat.

Thanks
