Literature Text
Little heartbreak ant,
afraid of Fate yet
clasped between
these two palms.
Looking for those
wee-big gaps
betwixt these fingers
and 'round these wrists.
Making mountains out of molehills,
carrying your thousand-pound worries
like speaking them out loud
will break you into pieces.
Busy like the bee;
searching the finger-palisades
for crumbling stones
and caving walls.
You wave your antennae
where the air blows in,
like the winter will inevitably
leave us cold and wanting.
Come home to me
and find your peace.
Let yourself rest
in these head and heart lines.
Pack up your papers
your circle-roads
and the six fuzzy socks
you pace these 'floors' in.
Little heartbreak ant
afraid to Hope
[learning to cope]
yet clasped between,
these two palms.
Literature
light and dark (songs of sorrow)
seed and spark
the artist's way
hard of heart
that will betray
light and dark
the shadow play
tragic arc
one of decay
words bespoke
no tomorrow
hit the notes
songs of sorrow
bleed and bark
at bite laid bare
work of art
yet unaware
light and dark
it's in the air
tragic start
one of despair
words bespoke
no tomorrow
hit the notes
songs of sorrow
seed and spark
the artist's way
words impart
they won't belay
light and dark
one cannot stay
tragic arc
one of decay
words bespoke
no tomorrow
hit the notes
songs of sorrow
bleed and bark
at bite unblessed
miss the mark
at every test
light and dark
both unimpressed
tragic start
one of distress
words bespoke
no tomorrow
hit the notes
songs of sorrow
seed and spark
the artist's need
light and dark
the bark and bleed

Literature
The sparrows gently sing
Silent was the night
Silver stars so brightly shone
As out of a dream
The nightingale broke out
In a song as pure as gold
Step by step I followed
An invisible pathway
Meandering here and there
From tree to tree
With steps as soft as velvet
Into the sea of golden light
I gently sailed away
On wings of silk and whispers
Leaving fear and age behind
Like dust in winter's wind
I rest my head again
Against my worn old pillow
Dream again tonight
Of days and years gone by
The sparrows gently sing.
Literature
Do I Remember?
I do remember, though the shades are near,
Each tender moment fades, dissolves, unclear.
The puddles darkened, not with childlike cheer,
But with the rust of time, with loss, with fear.
I see the crane, its iron neck now bowed,
No children laugh; the docks lie cold, unploughed.
The ships are husks, the water reeks of rain,
Grey ghosts eternally adrift in pain.
I find the sandbox buried deep in weeds,
Abandoned toys, forgotten childhood seeds.
The fountain runs no longer in the square,
Its stones are cracked, its silence chills the air.
The bellflowers withered, candies turned to dust,
The yellow bus now rotted into rust.
The butterfly, once bright in dream and gleam,
Now shivers, broken, in a moonless dream.
Yes, I remember – but my gaze turns stone.
Your gentle past reminds me of my own.
And though your sun still burns behind the years,
I walk with shadows, haunted by my tears
