Manatee Cake

This one was for my best friend Jennifer's birthday! She wanted a Manatee cake, and so that is what she got. His tail and flippers were yellow cake, the rest was chocolate, all with homemade buttercream frosting, which made the chocolate slices taste just like Oreo Cakesters... Mmmm! He's also got frosting spray and powdered chocolate on him, to make him a bit mossy and realistic!

I named him "Tike," 'cuz he's all cute and chubby and stuff. This guy was a lot of work, but SO MUCH FUN, and I was so proud of how he came out in the end! I even made him a little bit of "environment," - cupcake rocks with chocolate kelp/grasses, and some sprinkled chopped nuts for riverbed gravel...

Fun stuff! Yay for CAKE!
