For fun, I decided to do a re-do of this Classic Trek novel from back in the day.

This may be the first in a whole series of these...

Credits: V3 and M3 with original morphs
Costume: Space Fleet officer and Courageous with Romulan texture by :iconmdbruffy: and me.
Hair: Elena by Goldtassel
MD Bruffy's conversion of Craig Frey's Romulan Bird of Prey

I have both books in this series.  I think that Spock would support Kirk's shoulders if he were carrying him.  JMO

Marshak and Culbreath confuse me, this duology, and some other of their trek works, have this thing where it feels like part of the story is missing.  And that part is necessary to make sense of some key elements of the story.  In this case, it is like there was a short story prelude.  That was never published.

I've always heard that there was a secret fanzine version of these books.  I wonder if it's floating around out there on the web somewhere now...

I wouldn't be surprised.

Beautiful!  I remember these "all in GRUPS but name" novels well.  You did the first one justice.  Looking forward to the second.

I have this- and the sequel. They're both powerful and strange stories. Definitely in a class by themselves.

Yeah.  Definitely made a strong impression. Very different from everything else from that era.

Oh yeah. Definitely not a simple adventure story by any means.

They were definitely a unique set of books for sure.  Had to read them a couple of times to fully understand them.

I understand that. I did, too. And I'm still not sure I got everything I was supposed to.
