Gaila Dances 01c

I assume this is the computer specialist JJVerse Kirk got involved with in order to cheat at Kobayashi Maru?

Gaila was shown cheerfully opening a message from him on her computer center terminal just before the simulator started acting funny: its apparent contents merely read "I'm sorry", or something similar.  Later, Kirk apologized profusely to an Orion woman in the corridors of Enterprise before realizing it was a total stranger he was explaining this event to.

They were cut scenes, but helpful ones that were amusingly 'typical Kirk.'  You can still see Gaila glaring angrily at Kirk during the disciplinary hearing scene in the theatrical release.

(I really can't blame her: she got publicly humiliated on both a professional and emotional level.  A minor fling managed to compromise a vital Academy test which she was entrusted with overseeing, and it was very publicly going on record.  Plus, Gaila was an Orion, a species whose women tend to take pride in their legendary effect on men.  Kirk's weakness for women was already well-known in Starfleet Academy but he played her without hesitating.  That was being revealed as part of the investigation, too.)
