Okay, tracing official art is one thing, but tracing OTHER PEOPLE'S FANART and ESPECIALLY others' OCs is a whole new beast

N-no it should be equal I mean those artist have spent a lot of time on either art
its like saying it’s worse someone traced a mediocre deviantart artwork rather than this really professional fanart of a well respected artist that makes lots of money.
Actually in a court of law if it really was made and official piece or seld on shirts that case would actually be taken more seriously because it’s a big ass company with lawyers. It be even MORE serious when that traced art is making money from an official source.
Also tracing is a common practice amoung a well known comic book artist who traced porn pictures. So it’s a very fine line.
Not saying slugbox doesn’t have a right to sue but if you look at past incidents where his art was traced. No fucks where given until a few years later.
My point is it might be a bit over kill if you go to the court whining about how someone traced your picture so on DA just to gerbil a rule out of you.

What I meant with my last statement was it's completely obvious if someone traced official art. I mean, should I get sued for tracing official Pokémon art in 5th grade? It's not cool to trace anything if you're trying to make money off of it, though.
