Desmond gasped in pain as his eyes snapped open and bright white light flood his vision. He raised a hand feebly to block the light out and someone pushed his hand away and put a pair of sunglasses on for him. "T-thanks." His voice hoarse and dry from underuse for a period of time. "No problem, Desmond. I don't want you to get a migraine after just getting out of the Animus. Take it easy for a bit, and then you can get up and shake those legs out." Desmond blinked quickly and realised he knew this voice. "R-Rebecca?" He croaked out. "Yeah, here drink this." She came into his peripheral and was holding a glass of water with a straw. She hel

He wondered how Rebecca and Shaun were faring. He hoped that he wasn't actually dead and stuck in some sort of Limbo and that they weren't the ones who sent him to this nightmarish place. But he remembers the two voices… they were both men and not anyone he knew. Here Desmond decided that it was lonely, cold, and distant and that's what made the fog and numbers of the Animus machine such a nightmare. He was used to a life of constant motion, whether it was running away from the Farm, to only be dragged back, or when he was on the run from everyone and constantly hopped from once city to another, finally free from that place. Desmond wondered at times why he had seen a spectrum of Ezio when Ezio must've had at least one child, Desmond's ancestor, by that point. Desmond learnt that he could no longer follow Altair after Maria had conceived their first son, Desmond's next ancestor after Altair.
