Naesala avoided Begnion's capitol at night, contrary to what his critics liked to think when they listed his flaws; parties, drink, and noblewomen weren't actually his thing, and if he happened to catch a signal light out of the corner of his eye, well-- he couldn't pretend not to see it unless he wanted to go home and find ten cases of the plague as greeting because he broke some stupid pact.  A pact, he would add one day when someone asked (because surely someone would) - a pact he hadn't even signed.  He'd given up trying to figure out what made a blood pact sound like a good idea.  Never mind what kind of del

Never let it be said I'm not consistent.  Draw intensely for a few months, don't draw at all for like, a year, repeat.  :/  I have sketched things, but when faced with the prospect of inking, never mind planning the color - because I always do comps first - I get lazy fast. Color comps are kind of inconvenient, but I'm not great at choosing which colors to use.  You only get one chance when working the original.  Scanning each drawing and printing small versions on a piece of paper is a great way to experiment.  I would've dug my heels in and refused when I still thought I was taking art seriously, back at the beginning of college, but I gue

Seems I've hit one of those dry periods where I don't do any drawing.  I'm thinking of uploading a few of my old Saiunkoku fics, but other than that I have very little to add besides the occasional doll picture.  :/ But - I would like to improve at least a little bit.  My goals aren't high; if I could draw decent anatomy and semi-realistic facial features, and maybe get better at poses and stuff, that would be enough for me.  I mean, if I wanted to get super ambitious, I'd say I want to match the artwork in the first Valkyrie Profile game, because that was effing amazing, but I doubt I'll be able to do that without devoting more time to art

Actually working on stuff.

Actually working on stuff.

Really. 1. Fire Emblem: Rafiel (still being outlined, because I'm a total noob) 2. random flute-playing elf drawing (in the color comp stage) 3. random mermaid (still needs a background) I have two new sketches of Sarah (Suikoden III) and one of Michalis (Fire Emblem 11), which will follow Rafiel into Photoshop eventually, and serve as practice for outlining. There's no need to announce this, really, but something felt vaguely wrong about leaving this journal to sit for what, two months now?  It goes against my nature to stay quiet that long in a journal.  :/
