That was only a word to me.
Only a word until I laid eyes upon him.
Everything from his deep, empty, ocean blue eyes,
To his faded, warm smile.
From that moment on,
perfection existed in my life.
His hugs were gentle, as not to hurt me,
Yet secure to keep me safe from danger.
His hands always reaching for mine,
He wanted to fill in the gaps to make me whole.
He knew how lonely I felt without that.
His laugh was an echo of happiness,
Almost like he had lost only to live without.
I once knew what it was,
Now it eludes me forevermore.
