Waiting for Spring by Muskeg Waiting for Spring by Muskeg
Searching through my hard drive to get some images together for an upcoming photo show, and I found this shot from last April... Now I can hardly wait for winter to go away so I can make more of these....

A view from Bugge Beach, Ketchikan, Alaska.

Oh, you should sometime! I see you're from Wasilla... This state is so huge, with so many different types of geology, flora and fauna... Thank you for the lovely comments. I really appreciate them!

Wow, that is impressive.
Do you have a boat?

Thank you! No, sadly, I don't have a boat. I'm hoping to get out on the water soon... This was shot from the shore, at one of my favorite places, also here [link] and here [link] .

the only boat I have is a canoe with a little electric motor and a paddle I use as a rudder. cheapest way to go. under 300 bucks for everything.

I've thought about picking up a kayak... But then, I'd have to find a way to cart it around on my Cavalier... *Not* a big car. :)

They make tow hitch adapters for just about any vehicle. And they say Cavaliers can tow up to 500 pounds with no problem. The Chevy s10 have the 2.2 liter engines too. And they can tow snowmobiles.
I got a tow hitch on my rav4 that i put on myself. 4 bolts! And I got a cheap little steel frame trailer to put my canoe on.

Or you can roof mount it. My car was to tall for that. I tried but it was to hard.

I think I'd go with a roof mount... The car's pretty low, so it wouldn't be much of a reach... Maybe this summer I'll have a windfall and pick one up... Who knows? Stranger things have happened..

Thanks, Kevin! Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's warmer here than where you are... I just looked at weather.com and saw that your neck of the woods is pretty well below freezing... While we've had some snow and some cold snaps here and there, it's been mostly cold rain this winter....

Love it! I haven't hit my annoyance with winter quite yet, but it can't be too far off!

I'm a little weary of the cold rain and the dark... I would welcome a little snow and a clear cold snap... :)

Gosh, Mike, some people live in the most dreary of places. How do you ever put up with it?

Only a few weeks until Daylight Savings... Then, maybe I can catch some sunrises before work. :) I'd probably appreciate winter a little more if we had some snow this year... We've had a little, but we've had much more rain. Cold rain and short, dark days really make me long for spring and summer. Thank you, David. It's always an extra treat to hear from you.

Thank you, Richard. Zen is a good word... That's the feeling I have when I encounter this kind of view. These wonderful displays of the forces of nature really make me feel at one with the universe, and leave me with a wonderful calmness...
