My WIP.... honestly, I am not sure what the hell I am doing XD I am just doing what I think I should? Pfft. I dunno.
Musing attempts painting... PART ONE! You'll have to click on this a few times to get the image sharper.
Oh hun it looks lovely so far!! I do hope you continue with it, because you seem to be excellent at it, from what I see
I wish I knew how to use layers, lol.
that is very helpful!
But I'm not sure how I'd do it with a scanned picture. I never do my actual drawing on the computer. I do all of my art on paper, then scan it and then I upload it onto a art program.
The scanned image then looks like hell because there are a bunch of little black dots that need erasing and its time consuming to get the line art all cleaned up.
I like how crisp and clean your lines look. I'm always envious of it.
There might be a better way to do this, but here is how I do it. And yes, I feel your pain on that black dots and all that with scanned images. It was always so frustrating to me when I did it that way.
Using SAI, open your scanned image (should be saved as a .jpeg) - then create a new layer, but make sure that new, blank layer goes under your scanned piece (You can simply click on your layers and move them around. Drag them up or down to go on top or under another layer). It is very helpful to change the opacity of your scanned image layer so you can see where you are tracing out your image via the new (blank) layer. In SAI, there is a line art layer used just for making smooth, neat lines for that. That is what I use to get my lines - if I just drew them out, they would look horrible and sketchy as hell XD
Anyway, if you prefer to re-doodle your scanned image, you can doodle over it with a new layer - or select a line art layer to get right to the line art fun. The line art layer lets you edit your lines, curve them around, apply pressure to the lines or take it away - just about all of your line needs there can be found. You can also have colored lines if you desire.
I am sending you a couple of screenshots, with my bad handwriting with the mouse on here in a note. Take a peek
Looks stunning as of yet.
Oooh! Go for it! Love what you got so far!
