Okay… here’s a strange one. This rather long and repetitious piece is an exercise in eleven beat time (11/4 is the time signature). We used a drum template in the digital recorder to keep the beat – it is easier for a machine than it is for a human. If you are counting, you may find eleven notes a bit much to track (I have to stop at ten as I run out of fingers). But, you will find that the first half of the work falls easily into alternating 6 beat followed by 5 beat half-measures, while the second half of the song is easier to count as 5 beats followed by 6. (The transition is buried under layers of sonic waves.)
