Very sweet. I really love the colors, lighting and DOF. I also think this is a great mixture of passions. =D

If you don't mind me asking whats that bit of light from?

Hehe many thanks Angela, I wasn't too sure about the colors, worked hard to get them that way, but as you know I am never satisfied.

In regards to the light, its from the little pop up light that you can see in the picture. Reason behind that light is for dark areas (clubs, ect) the light is extremely helpful in finding out how much of the track or album is left to play. Its a great and simple tool to make sure that I have enough time to properly mix in another song.

the colour of the vinyl makes this shot even better then it would be. do you ever take your camera to the places where you dj??
whats sorts of places do you dj? do you own any vinyl that you wouldnt ever play??
have you thought of doing a self portait of you djing but using motion blur heaps??

I have seen this shot done many times, hence why I described it as an obligatory DJ picture. However, most of the time the vinyl is black, so I tried to mix things up a bit.

In regards to where I play, I used to play bar gigs and occasional club gigs in Seattle, but now I have my online radio show on faderwave.net.

In regards to taking my camera to gigs, I never do. Main reasons are because its expensive and I do not want it broken or lost, and also since I am the one mixing, I rarely have any moments for breaks to take pictures. I've always wanted a portrait of me behind my decks, but I haven't been able to find a willing assistant to help me out, let alone moving my equipment out to a suitable location.

And yes, I own quite a bunch of vinyl that I would never dare mix due to their rarity. Usually these pieces I rip to my computer right away and frame the record while keeping it in a cool and dark environment.
