We created a spooky little film from this shoot, only about 6 mins long (once edited). I might upload it somewhere online one day (along with all the other little films we've created, we have lots!)

I made the feather cape, hat, skirt and did weird stuff to my hair. Self portrait.

It's a beautiful old-fashioned portrait, Muse

The first thing I thought of when I saw the outfit in this photo was Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games. It's not totally like her, but the feathers reminded me of that character. Fantastic photo and costume!

This is a clear demonstration of how not to serve undress to get results of high level...for me...

Great class, intensity, charm and sensuality in this portrait. The black and white helps to create a really soft feel.

Handcrafted by you? Very good. Truly multitalented. It'd be interesting to see you two have an exhibition in Finland some day.

You look like you stepped off the set of Penny Dreadful… very dark/victorian vibe!

Forgot to mention, I can see the storm in eyes, behind the calm still black.. was this intended when shot?

I love how classic this feels. Like a sequel to your raven series actually. The raven and she are now one, stalking that which cost her sleep in the past.

Freaking awesome! Mongo Loves monochrome! And the DoF - fabulous...

The clarity of the eyes, (lips), feathers and hair is just grrrrrate!

comes from having shot a Nikon FM and Plus X/Tri X/Ilford with a 50mm f/1.4 for so many years........

So how long did it take to make the feathered outfit?

The cape took two weeks about an hour a night, the skirt was last minute and took me about an hour and the hat another 5 mins!

Was this an idea you've had brewing for a while, or did the inspiration come spontaneously? I'm curious because great images come both ways :)

A bit of both, I made the cape a few months back, knowing I wanted to do something "raven inspired" as I love the birds. I then found this Gothic castle and made the skirt/crown etc the day of the shoot. This is how I tend to work, a rough idea and then just go with the flow...

Doors and windows are a kind of obsession in your photos . Only in my favorite pictures of you I count 12 doors and 6 windows . It looks like a rite of passage : are you inviting us to death or to unknown pleasures ? :-? (Confused)

Wonderful observation and do you know you're the only one to have noticed, well at least as far as I'm aware. The windows and doors are definitely a constant within my work and are symbolic for me, but I like to keep a little mystery and let others decide for themselves the meaning behind my work.
