Couldn't fit the entire title on this one!  I never realized dA had limits to deviation titles. :D

Anyway, man, I had fun with this one!  Been chipping away at it for quite a while.  I thought '70s sci-fi would make a fun theme (especially focusing on those great covers for sci-fi novellas), and oddly enough, I found myself feeling nostalgic for it, despite the fact that I didn't exist in the '70s!  I think part of it was that in the early '80s, there were still plenty of carry-over '70s things around, so I was still exposed to it, and it reminds me of when I was super young.  It's pretty cosmic, man. ;p Anyway, this set made for some really fun references!

Ha, ha!  Thanks!  Good eye--that's a pretty obscure reference. :D

It wasn't that bad......that this guy is based on Cthu'lhu was aspparent. The name was the tricky part.

Totally!  I tried to draw him kind of goofy, like a big felt puppet, to kind of get the idea across. :D

I can't figure out which one I like the most. My eyes keep roving from one to catch details on another. Maybe Majishen. So creepy!

Thanks, MiniMinx!  This was a fun set to work on!  I'm not sure who my favorite is, either... usually I have a clear favorite or two in each set, so I'm a bit surprised. :D

I hear Kavinsky music playing in the background. Maybe a bit of ToyTree as well.

Oooh, I haven't heard of them, but I'll have to check them out!  Sounds interesting... :la:

I recommend looking up Kavinsky's Nightcall and ToyTree's work for the OST of STRAFE.

Nice!  I'll check'em out!  Thanks for the tip. :D

You sending me an email sometime soon? ;)

Ha, ha!  Sorry for all the delays, Brannon!  I haven't had the time to isolate the characters in the files.  Would it be cool if I just uploaded the original Photoshop files?  It won't be as clean as having just the character on a flat background, but I could do it much faster! :D

Sure - sounds great. I can do the grunt work.
MurderousAutomaton's avatar
Cool!  Sorry about that--I figured you'd prefer doing the Photoshop work yourself to having to wait forever to get anything. ;p

I'll dig those files out this week and put them in DropBox!
