rEFInd theme

Official rEFInd website:

  • Add func_csr_rotate icon

Installing :

       1. Download and extract.

       2. Locate `refind` directory under EFI partition. For most Linux based system is commonly `/boot/efi/EFI/refind/`.
           Copy theme directory to it.

Important: Delete older installed versions of this theme before you proceed any further.

       sudo rm -rf /boot/efi/EFI/refind/{regular-theme,refind-theme-regular}
       sudo cp -r refind-theme-regular /boot/efi/EFI/refind/
    3. To adjust icon size and font size edit theme.conf
       sudo nano

To enable the theme add include refind-theme-regular/theme.conf at the end of refind.conf.

       sudo nano /boot/efi/EFI/refind/refind.conf

Hey, I just made a "theme" for rEFIt if you wanted to check it out, and the reason being, rEFIt is currently working fine with System Integrity Protection enabled. Also, some people can't boot into Recovery to disable SIP, so rEFInd is useless to them. So I wanted to make a "theme" for those people who have SIP and have rEFIt.

Here it is:

Hey! Can you add the new Ubuntu Gnome icon? :D

Please, can you add an elegant Apple icon instead of only the OS X icon? So when you click enter, there is behind the gray Apple logo.

Hi! Congratulations for your theme. I use it every day. It's amazing. But I have a little issue with the font displayed in the boot manager. It isn't like it appears in your example picture of the theme. In my case the font of the command description is more tiny and black. What could be the problem?…
munlik's avatar
The font in example picture is "liberation-mono-regular-16".You may use script to generate font for you…

There is no option to change font color. No, I disagree!
I hope the refind 's creator will add this ability in the future,I plan to add more font (in various font size) for next release

Thanks for your answer. But I really don't know why in case the text immediately under the icons is black and not grey as in your example picture. Can you said me something about this?

I love this theme, I think it absolutely blows mine… out of the water :-)

I wanted to ask you if you would mind if I included some of your tool icons in my theme. Not a problem if you wanted to keep those exclusive to your theme, they looks just great!

Sure you can,
You have permission to change and modify anything
I have a problem, I have installed elementary but it shows me the ubuntu icon, and in my refind.conf (witch is the original) has no "os_ubuntu" like in any line, also all the manual entry are disabled.

I'm guessing that the os_linux icon file might be the same as the os_ubuntu icon file, so it sets unrecognized linux distros to ubuntu, or it might wrongly detect elementary as ubuntu (it might have some ubuntu-based code in it's os backend).   I'd recommend renaming the elementary icon that you want to os_linux or os_ubuntu depending on which case seems to be occuring.
