Luise Adelheid von Friedeburg, 8th (East Prussian) Uhlans, just promoted to the arguably best in bed most ardent second lieutenant of her time (somewhere from 1910 to 1914).

I must call this portrait finished since it will soon be July and art classes are no more. About time, since this struggle was dragging on like the siege of Paris in 1870/71. Teach encouraged to give her more realistic eyes, which happened. On the casualties side, her expression was not always this derpy. I can only console myself with the thought that intelligence is not required to become a Prussian lieutenant. Also, sorry to say, ~Kaiser-Conti, but the 8th Uhlans did not wear Guard lace.

This is the first oil painting I ever made and a distressing process that nonetheless taught me a ton of things. Critique will be listened to, but as things stand, chances are you won't say anything I hadn't already noticed myself. There are plenty of mistakes I simply did not have time to correct and would have liked to work on this portrait for a few more hours if I only had them.

Apparently, she has no ears, which annoys me to no end.
