Art and all

0 min read
Its been over a year since my last journal entry.  I guess I didn't feel I had anything else important to say. Went to Texas and after a year came back to Ohio. While I was in Texas I started drawing a webcomic called Slop.  If you've been looking at my recent art then you'll see its is the majority of the art I submit here lately.  The comic takes up a great deal of my artistic time...but it keeps me drawing. I suspect if I didn't have the comic then I wouldn't have output the equivalent ammount of art. Those of you who enjoy my art here... Thank you.  Thank you for taking the time to look.

Talking with a special friend and my own thoughts lately have lead me to the phrase "Suffering for your art." I know what it is, on my own terms to suffer for my art.  To try and fail. Fail? Fail how?  The finished piece might look fine to others but not to me. Or more often its tossed aside in disgust.  I wanted X but this is X-1. So why do we keep going? Can we even keep going? Where did the joy go? I tell my friend I keep going because I must.  It hurts sometimes and I draw anyways.  I know I'm slowly getting better...or maybe just not getting worse. An old friend now slumbering the eternal sleep used to say something like "I've suffer

I hope you know your signature has gotten that song stuck in my head for the next week now. But that's a good thing.

Awesome gallery.

I'm afraid it was unavoidable that I ended up here as well. Hello friend.
