AirHeads! Promo Card - Illustration 2

I've been forgetting to do so, but I've decided it's time I showcase one of my works from Illustration 2 that I am most proud of... my Self-Promotion Card!

In Illustration 2, I was allowed to use color now, but only in traditional form on Illustration board, so I used Copics.

That is...until the Final, in which I was allowed to go digital, since Illustration 3 (the next level) does allow the digital option, so for Illustration 2 students to use their digital skills (if any).

So, for my promotion card, I ended up putting my characters from my series AirHeads! on a Royal Pyromaniac vacation liner, which is owned by Zane and Azalea Burns. Their clothes are the result of me browsing Polyvore waaaaaaay too much, and stumbling upon the clothing site ModCloth (seriously, check out the stuff they've got there)

And if you're wondering why there's a pixelation in one of the clouds, it's because my real name is there (I had to use it in Illustration class), and I'm not allowed to have my real name on here.

A lot of people liked this piece back in the class, and some were fascinated by the designs I came up with.
hopefully you guys enjoy it as much too! =D

Thank you very much!

And I'm glad Sokka's (his name is Sven Van Der Shivers in my parody) outfit made you laugh. Since my AirHeads! the Musical is more or less a Americanized/Westernized Retro (think first half of 20th century) parody of Avatar, many of the outfits are re-designed to fit into a Western-based world; the Water Tribes are supposed to be European-based (French/Russian/Roman in the North, Germanic/Scandinavian in the South, but both with the technological advancement of the 1890s-1900s) Kat and Sven's sailor outfits are supposed to be based on sailor styles popular with American children in the 1900s. Along the same lines, I chose a typically nautical style to connect with their native element (though Maria in this picture wears a similar style, but in a different color palette).

Reminds me of Anything Goes. Especially of this song:

Oh, there's no cure like travel
To help you unravel
The worries of living today
When the poor brain is cracking
There's nothing like packing
A suitcase and sailing away.
Take a run 'round Vienna,
Granada, Ravenna, Sienna
And then a-'round Rome.
Have as high time, a low time,
And in no time
You'll be singing "Home, Sweet Home."

Someone's missing from your group. Someone very important. Where's Momo?

Never thought of how to draw him. In my version of the story, he is called Julien.

Thanks! I'm glad you favor their style. If you want to find similar things, try checking out the website ModCloth; they've got all this clothing that looks so vintage inspired, yet with a modern flair. I was kinda browsing that site a lot when I created the characters clothing.

Do you have a personal favorite outfit? Or do you like them all equally?
