[aleena] drabble - dragons and their thingsBefore he could escape her, Aleena grabbed the tiny dragon that was flashing by. His scales were red and shimmering like rubies; his appetite was for cherries to eat and pearls to hoard. Today he had scavenged one black pearl, clutching it firmly in his claws. She glared at him - he glared back. ‘It is not yours.’ Her believes were not as firm as her words. The dragon knew and did not bulge; clawing the jewel closer. With a shrug and a sigh she give in: ‘Fine, keep what you cannot part with.’ She got too many of them anyway.
[written in stars] Part one‘Careful!’ I laughed; danced away from his hands. I shook my head, letting my curls fall over my shoulder. He grabbed my waist before I got far. His silver eyes shimmered and for a moment I was caught with the darkness he hid so well. I shook my head, my smile betraying the awe I felt when he looked that way. He was always searching for a way to … possess me, I guess, to keep me in place. He did not like it when I denied him, but there was such a thrill in doing so.
