I can't believe that you went to my table and put a pile of your business cards in the corner of it for people to take them instead of mine. What kind of behaviour it is? Don't we artists have it hard already? Wasn't your own table enough for you? I paid for my table from my own pocket - to advertise my own small business that I am trying to grow...not yours. The unsolicited advertising on other artists tables is not welcome and it left other artists from comic village in shock. It would be different if you handed the card directly to me - in that case, I would be more than happy to keep it and check your work. But to drop it like this and plenty of them, away from my sight...shocking. Not something I would expect from artist like you...

I feel can vouch for Mr Tuke here, as he is a long term associate, and a good friend.
There is no way he would carry out the vandalism. He is a chill person and a very respectful man.
He has huge regard for other creators, and I think this action must have been carried out by
some careless or silly individual. Just commenting here to defuse any potential bad blood.

Let me underline that MrTuke is not the kind of personality that would carry out this action.
There has obviously been some kind of mischief here by some 3rd party.

Thank you curtsibling! I appreciate your feedback.
I feel bad that some random stranger did that as it caused unnecessary misunderstanding.
I love making friends with fellow comic con goers so that is why it left me feeling disheartened.
I am very glad to find out it wasn't his idea to do that.

Hi there. Thanks for being so understanding. I have known Mr Tuke many years, he is a very gentle and kind fellow, and would never insult you in this way.
I have a feeling it might have been a careless gesture by some random con customer. I feel sad that this caused you some much stress.
And I agree, we indie art/comic creatives should stick together. I am 100% sure we can take over the world as a team! :)

Best Regards,
Curt

Hello Chap. Egads! Sounds like we've both been had here. I'm afraid this is not my doing. Lemme straighten things out

I'm guessing you were at the Scotland MCM comic village like me last weekend. All I ever did throughout the whole 2 days was go to the Loo and go back to my table to work, and that was it. There's no way I would do such a thing like advertise on someone else's table, not when I'm too busy to with the chores of my own stall and I'm up to my eyeballs in commission work.

I can only imagine that while away or when I had my head down scribbling someone took some of my leaflets from the corner of my table (and I was on the end here) and put them down on yours without a care, possibly as a prank or more likely spur of the moment forgetfulness. We're talking about busy conventions here. It can happen.

I've been doing conventions for over 10 years and I often find leaflets from other people on my table frequently, all the time even. All you got to do is either dispose of them or if possible return them to the owner. It's simply not worth losing your cool over these errors, much less go all guns blazing without a second thought for the other side of the story.

Whoever did this I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you, but the finger can't be pointed at me. I should remind you that I too had to pay that fee to exhibit in the comic convention, on top of that single handedly carrying hefty amount of gear all the way across the country on a 10 hour trip plus taking several days off work to do so, and I've been doing the Scotland MCM since 2013; 6 whole shows. Trust me when I say I won't do all that just to put leaflets on someone else's table. There's not a single benefit in doing that for me, not when I have to spend about a few hours running damage control.

Again I am sorry this happened to you. I do value good relationships with fellow exhibitors as bad vibes don't bode well for a good show. I hope it was alright for you otherwise, and best wishes for future exhibitions as well. If you're doing Scotland MCM again, I'll pop by for a talk and we can take it from there.

Keep well and keep up the good work, mate.

Hi, I already saw your other message and thank you so much for clarification, I appreciate it.
I was a bit disheartened when I saw a pile of them at my desk. Everyone at comic village was beyond lovely and I was surprised that anyone from our village would do something like that to others.
I am sorry for blaming you, but I didn't expect for anyone else to advertise your business - besides you doing it yourself. It didn't cross my mind that someone did some stupid prank and took chunk of your cards and disposed them at random table as there were no bins around. I wasn't on many large events so I wasn't aware that it's a common thing that happens. I was however on various smaller scale Scottish cons and during those it never happened before - hence my confusion.
I am sending apologies and if you get into MCM, feel free to say hello and I will be happy to give you freebie print or stickers to make up for that!
