Shadow's Apology

Some time has past since Cosmo returned to the living, her reunion with Tails, spending all their time together and enjoying each others company and love. One early evening they see someone approaching them, it was Shadow The Hedgehog.
Cosmo instantly panicked, she remembers the time when Shadow snuck on board The Blue Typhoon and attempted to kill her. 
Tails was not having it this time, he was armed as he stood by Cosmo ready to fight Shadow, however Shadow wasn't here to fight, but for another purpose.

Cosmo: Huh?.... SH....Sh...Sh....Sh....Shad......Shadow?

Shadow: Hello Cosmo, it has been a while hasn't it?

Cosmo Tails?.... Help me!!!!

Tails: Don't you take another step towards her Shadow, I will not hold back if you dare. 

Shadow: I'm not here to fight or harm anyone.

Tails: Then what are you here for?

Shadow: Cosmo, I'm sorry for coming after you in the way I did and I'm sorry for believing your were the enemy, all of which I regret. I know saying sorry isn't enough and I do not expect you to fully forgive me, you have every right to hate me. You saved the universe from our real enemy the Metarex by your own choice, proving that you are a real ally and friend to everyone. 

Tails:  Yeah you had your say now leave. 

Shadow: One more thing, I'm going to make you a promise Cosmo. If you are ever in danger from anyone, I'll be the first to know and I will take care of them myself. 

Cosmo: Thank you Shadow, I forgive you and I accept your apology. 

Tails: You what? 

Cosmo: It's okay Tails, he is not a threat to me anymore.

Tails: Cos, are you sure about trusting Shadow? After what he tried to do to you?

Cosmo: Shadow deserves another chance, after all he did help us against the Metarex too.

After Shadow leaves, Tails and Cosmo stare into the sky, watching the daylight disappear and waiting for nighttime to arrive so they can stare at the Stars and the Moon.
