Description
So.... so where do I begin? Well after an overall ''okay'' view on the first trilogy, Michael Bay then decides a fourth film is needed and this time, he has a new human cast and transformers cast, with only Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Brains and one other character (See below) from the previous trilogy returning.
I have only one question.........................What was the fucking point of this film?
-
This film has no real story plot, no direction and feels like a overly long, overly loud mess that makes Revenge Of The Fallen look like a masterpiece (even ROTF wasn't a great film).
-
So the Story (what I could make of it): After the events of Dark Of The Moon, Humans have had enough of the transformers and decide to destroy them all with the help from the Cybertronian Bounty Hunter Lockdown (the films main antagonist and the only character I liked in this film), Lockdown's purpose is to find Optimus Prime and bring him back to his creators on Cybertron for what ever reason. Meanwhile Mark Walhberg gets 'unintenionally' involved with the conflict between The Autobots and The Human Villains 'Cemetery Wind' lead by Kelesy Grammer (really... that is the best name Bay could come up with?). Anyway, Wahlberg and The Autobots also learn that the human led company 'KSI' are building their own 'transformers' which they can control, however the humans and even the Autobots are unaware that the Protoype drones are being controlled by no other than 'Megatron' himself (Yes, Megatron is the other character who returns), after taken control of the prototype ''Galvatron'' body, Megatron plans to use the seed (which Lockdown gives to the humans after capturing Optimus Prime) to rebuild the Decepticon army. The Autobots and Mark Wahlberg not only have to stop Cemetery Wind and Lockdown, but also prevent Megatron from getting his hands on the seed.

This film was a mess from start to finish, no dialog that made sense, no entertainment vaule, no character development, and even the new characters aren't worth it either, I almost forgot about the Dinobots (Not that it matters because they only come in at the final act of the film, even then they do nothing).
The only character who I think was likeable, was Lockdown, clearly the only character Michael Bay really cared about for this film. Lockdown was something a little different when compared to Megatron, The Fallen and Sentinel Prime, he doesn't have any intention to destroy or take over the Universe, he doesn't take sides with anyone and overall a very liked (yet underrated) villain.
-
Overall Transformers 4: Age Of Extinction was a failed attempt to refresh the franchise, Malk Wahlberg was terrible lead and Michael Bay should have moved on to something else instead................... But wait until the next (and final) Bayformers film.
Score: 2 / 10 - Don't watch this film, watching paint dry this more enjoyable.

I give it a 6 out of 10 on my score rating. The only thing I care about is the action, battles, music and Dinobots.
