Description
Don Bluth brought us some iconic films during him time such as The Secret of NIMH and An American Tail. Another Bluth classic that I enjoy is The Land Before Time.
-
This one is by far the saddest film he made. Littlefoot the little-longneck and his mother are both in search of a new home, in a place called The Great Valley, However with a violent encounter with Sharptooth and the Earth-Quake that followed which resulted in the death of Littlefoot's mother, Littlefoot has to make the journey alone, along the way he meets new friends (Cera, Ducky, Petrie & Spike) and together they decide to find the Great Valley, while also escaping the jaws of Sharptooth.

The death of Littlefoot's mother was by far the saddest character death in any film I've watched (Even sadder than Mufasa from The Lion King), I remember watching this with my Mother - Sister and Grandfather and all three of them cried their eyes out --- Yet I did not.
As Bluth's classic goes, this is up there with all his greatest work and I'm proud to be a fan of Don Bluth, the soundtrack adds an even deeper emotional feel to the story and the voice acting was greatly performed.
My Score:
8 / 10
Give it a watch --- But have a box of tissues ready if you are very easily emotional.
