I'M AFRAID NOT. His original mommy requested that I bury him outside and place rocks on his gravesite and find flowers for him. I decorated his grave with his aquarium rocks and put a few little spring flowers around the burial site. It was quite sad.
Wal Mart isn't the best place to get betta fish. They're usually not in good care already, and no matter what you do with them in home care, they just don't seem to last long. If you have a Petco/Petsmart/etc., I'd buy another one from there.
I didn't buy Bobby myself; I was actually caring for him for a friend who's in college. But yes, if I get a new one it will probably come from Petco. c: Maybe I'll get a new one for my birthday next month.
Generally Walmart isn't the best at caring for their Bettas. Also- everyone on the planet talks about how easy Bettas are to care for? Not true! Betta's are pretty sensitive to water temp, water acidity, and food types. I'm sorry I'm the one who voted you learn more. I didn't mean that offensively? I just know that, at least for me, I had to learn a lot before my fish was able to live long and healthy.
Thanks to my friend Austin I've learned a lot about betta care recently; but it was way too late for my fish. I feel bad since I know there are steps I could have taken that might have helped him live longer if I had known from day one. Your vote is right though; I should know everything before taking in another one.
; ) I don't know if you have a PetSmart near you, but that's where I got my Betta. The people there were incredibly knowledgeable and any time I had problems I could call them or bring him in and they literally were spot on helpful every time. They have a book/pamphlet that is really great to learn about water specifics. If/when you decide to get another one I wish you the best! They're really beautiful, wonderful fish and they can be pretty friendly with owners. ; )
Aww, so sorry Pepper! D8 Sometimes there's just nothing you could've done to prevent it! If you feel up to it, getting a new one can kinda keep your mind occupied... I don't think of it as replacing, cause a new fishie wouldn't be Bobby, but when my budgie passed away after 12 years of having him, I was definitely glad I had just gotten my cat to distract me. <3
I might wait if it's getting another betta fish. :c I know it wouldn't be replacing but I feel like it's better to know all the details before having another one.
If my mom's bf decided to let me get a cat, that would be the best day of my life though. But he would more likely let us get a puppy first. My friend's dog had pit mix puppies a couple weeks ago and they're all very precious. I could probably convince him to let us get one of those... I'm sure a puppy would be very distracting. And life-consuming.
