Soooo... KONY 2012.

15 deviants said I'm a supporter. I spread the word, but because of my financial situation, I'm not donating my money to help Invisible Children.
12 deviants said Joseph Kony has done unforgivable things, but I don't trust Invisible Children with my money and I think, though they have some good intentions, that they have other motives.
6 deviants said WTF IS KONY 2012???
5 deviants said Kony is old news and getting up and upset about it now is a waste of our time. This cause is dead, and we should focus on other things.
4 deviants said I just get pissed when I hear "Kony 2012." I wish everyone would shut up because I give no fucks.
2 deviants said We have no business giving our money to help a country that is horribly corrupted. Read between the lines and do some research before throwing your money away!
1 deviant said I'm involved! I'm donating money and spreading the word. I would go to Uganda and help myself if I could!

well its a mix of two answers for me. i dont really trust them with my money, and i think they should be spending ALL their raised funds on uganda, not like the 30% (ish.. ) they're doing now.. they dont need as much money as they say they do for "raising awareness".

however, i think they have great intentions and im definitely spreading the word, and im going to go to Portland on april 20 to put up stickers and such for the blackout thing.

basically i think kony 2012 and invisible children is a great movement and they seem like not that bad of a group, but i wont be giving them money because i think they should be spending their money more on uganda and actually using it towards stopping Kony.

I won't donate to IC, but I completely agree that Kony and people like him should be exposed and stopped.

OKAY WELL My dA AND FB is blowing up with Kony, and now I'm seeing stuff that the donations with IC could be a fraud.
I won't be donating my money because, it sadly, will never end until that man is dead. There is NOTHING the US can do about it and no other country will help either. Building schools will not stop him, and the Uganda government has done nothing to stop him, so that should tell you how much their government cares. I hate being the dick to say this, but this is all just.. no hope :/ Until Uganda herself takes Kony down, no one will.

I agree with this. I don't think we can truly help to stop him with this project.

And IC was really crafty with their big, heart-string-tugging video, but.... it smelled fishy from the start to me. And now there's evidence that they're not spending our money well, and the 'helpful' things that they actually DO buy aren't stopping Kony at all.

Exactly. I love that schools and jobs are being provides for people, but that won't stop Kony at all. I hope his life will end soon, for the safety of all those children but he is pretty much the new Hitler.
