i been back there for a little while and dont think i announced it here!
whoever has furaffinity, you can watch me there too if you like

for your furry needs

at times, some commissions and adoptables i offer are exclusive to there (as there are also ones that are exclusive to here as well). if you're into furry/anthro and you have been looking to commission or adopt from me, you may consider following me there too!

What IS FurAffinity? I've heard some things, but as a non-Furry, I'm afraid I've picked up on some misconceptions.

it's an art website/community like dA, just with a focus on furry/anthro art basically. the user base can range from just folks who like furry art, to ones who dress up like furries. that's it in a nutshell and that's as far as my relationship with it goes. it's where i have an art gallery and interact with other artists just like on here

the question a lot of people have is 'wait aren't there weirdos/sickos?' and the answer is.. yea they exist, just like dA has its fair share of them. there is an aversion to FA with regards to how extreme the fetish art people post can go but tbh you can see just as much scary shit on deviantART, so people writing off either site based on the parts they're grossed out by is just silly. my advice to anyone on any website is to only follow/interact with users whose content you're comfortable with and you won't have to put up with the Hellish Things

Do the search tools help me limit what I can be exposed to? Does FA have the same licensing options dA has?

there are a few ways to control what you're seeing with the search tools and while browsing in general, but honestly the search tools aren't near as extensive as dA's

far as licensing options, the answer is no not really. i think the fact that those features and options are present in dA reflects more what the site is about

i think in a way dA has more of a focus on being a site where folks can come and try to get their name out there, license their materials, and post right alongside artists here who are big in the industry. so there's a more 'any user can come try to reach some level of professionalism and exposure' vibe to the site. there's featuring and community events and so on too, that notify all users and urge them to participate. how genuine deviantART as a business staff is about all of that stuff i can't vouch, but that doesn't necessarily reflect the user base of course

in contrast, i feel FA more of a 'post alongside like-minded individuals' kind of place. there are also professionals there who make their entire living off their art there sure, commissioning and artist support is HUGE in the furry community, but the site itself is built on different values and is more of a 'find your people' site from what i've seen. i'm not sure what all goes on the forums in terms of having site-wide events, because i've never gone there, but i think the there is far less emphasis on site-based events, and more arranging meetups and meeting ones friends and fellow users at conventions and things

different artists have different wants and needs, so whether to be a part of either site (or both in my case) is dependent on what an artist wants in a community

(also take this analysis with a grain of salt, i know users use each site for several vastly different things, it's just a generalization based on what i've observed)

So I'm taking it it won't have much to offer a non-furry like myself?
