sculpt 2: peepo! paintjob by MrsDrPepper sculpt 2: peepo! paintjob by MrsDrPepper
i sucked it up and colored my sona sculpture today after all! i kept it loose and had fun with it. pepper's simple enough that i only had to add a couple of subtle textures, so i think starting with this character was a good choice to learn how things work. this model looks decent enough to be a reference for this character! shapes are all there and stuff

anyways i look forward to improving *v*

now THAT i doubt :lmao:
it would be lovely but i didn't really make this sculpture with the intention of animating it so a lot of the pieces are connected too much to the main part of the build (the mouth/jaw for example is just carved in, as well as the legs which are just kind of a shaped blobs that might not take to animation/posing bones very well). it was kind of made as just a statue and experimentation with shapes and likeness

if i decide i want to animate peepo, i'd just have to sculpt a new model with parts that can be moved more easily. i don't have software for adding armature/animating at this time tho so i'm not worried about it just yet

Yeah, that's true... The topology would need to be built from the ground up for that. Sculpting a high-poly mesh with z-brush or something is pretty different from the whole "extrude, create edgeloop, repeat" workflow.

On the bright side, if you ever wanted to bake a bump map for a lower-poly mesh (one that's better suited to being rigged and animated), now you know how. :D
