Thank you SO much to everyone who partook in this challenge! I'm in awe and inspired by your dedication, creativity and hard work! There's huuuuuundreds and huuundreds of entries for me to go through, counting how many days each person participated, etc. So bare with me while I work on announcing the winners
I'm proud to present you with @projecteducate's summer activity: a day-to-day monthly art challenge (à la "Inktober") for ALL artistic mediums (photos, drawings, crafts...all mediums are welcome)! There have been many challenges mimicking this format and I always found them super fun to follow even just as a spectator
We recently asked you guys what you'd like us to do this summer, and many of you voted for a monthly challenge with daily themes to follow, so here we are!
I hope this will represent a fun way for you to seek inspiration and challenge yourself over the month of August. If you're feeling like you have no new ideas, that you're bored with your art lately or your motivation has been lacking: look no further, this challenge should solve all your issues!
Please carefully read the rules of this challenge so we can avoid any misunderstandings! If you have a question, leave a comment and I'll happily respond asap
There are 31 days in the month of August. For this challenge, you are presented with 31 themes: one for every day. The idea is for you to create a piece of art (in any artistic medium of your choice) each day that fits with the theme of that day.
However, you do not HAVE to create a piece of art for every single day/theme! This is further explained in the prizing section of the journal. You can pick as many or as little days as you want to participate.
You must create, post and submit your entry on the same day of the theme it corresponds to. So, on August 1st you would create, post and submit an entry for Theme 1 of this challenge. Following this example: you cannot submit your entry for Theme 1 on August 2nd!
To submit your entry, leave a comment on this journal with: 1) the name of the theme 2) a link or thumbnail to your entry. This is important so I can be sure you're submitting an entry on the right theme for the right day. (yes, this means if you enter the challenge every day, you'll be commenting 31 times on this journal)
Your entries must be submitted onto DeviantArt, they cannot be in your sta.sh.
The description of your entry (description of the deviation which you fill in when submitting it onto DeviantArt) must include a link to this journal, stating your deviation is an entry to this challenge.
A daily challenge is...well, challenging. I know that, and that's what I'm posting this journal early. You shouldn't begin working on your entries now - that's not fair to other players who will follow the rules. However, you can begin planning in your head, putting together ideas, preparing materials, etc so that you'll be faster on the day of each theme.
I don't think it'd be fair for me to say this challenge works on one specific time zone to assess whether someone posted their entry on time. As such, I will try my best to take into account time zones when checking whether someone submitted on time for a day's challenge. If your country isn't listed on your profile page, though, I won't be able to extend this courtesy.
To make sure everyone feels incentivised to partake in this challenge, prizing will be random. You have just as much of a chance to win a prize as anyone else....depending on how many entries you submit!
I will be counting the amount of entries in total, meaning it doesn't need to be X amount of consecutive days. Trying to be flexible here
A random person who submitted an entry for 26 to 31 days will receive a one-year core+ membership OR the equivalent in points
A random person who submitted an entry for 16 to 25 days will receive 3,000 points
A random person who submitted an entry for 6 to 15 days will receive 1 month core+ and 500 points
A random person who submitted an entry for 1 to 5 days will receive 250 points
You might be thinking...so it's all about quantity, not quality??? Think again!
To encourage everyone to submit well thought-out and high quality entries (as much as it's possible for a challenge like this), I'll be offering $20 via PayPal to a participant that submitted multiple well executed entries.
This is the Photography Community: vol.1
Winners of the Big Christmas Raffle!
BIG CHRISTMAS RAFFLE: $50, 12k points, Core, Art!

I wanted to thank you and projecteducate for this very interesting daily challenge. It was tough but I could complete it except for the 2 first days I wasn't aware ^^
It did improve my skills I think!
I'm not sure that I did publish everything on your post though. here is my post summarize all my deviations this month... and that also summarize my feedbacks and thanks for this challenge! :)
The 31 days of art journey is almost over. Thank you for this fun challenge! I was really happy that I participated (most of the time). It definetly pushed me to topics I maybe would not have explored by myself and it also lead to a lot of experimentation.
Oh yes! Some were easy, others were really hard for me to come up with something and then I also got some ideas which I could not realize on my skill level and/or within the time constraints. I definetly felt challenged.
