Could be because her comic was a failure. Maybe because her background is pretty much tied to Peter's.

According to Sony reps, yeah. There might be others... But I guess it's something they're really keen on doing. I think Lauren Montgomery (one half of the Voltron: Legendary Defender team) is up for the director role. (The other half of that team is up for the Miles Morales sequel.)
