28 years ago, Stephen King's 'IT' tv-movie was aired on television. One of the most famous and scary work of the genius Stephen King was brought to life.
In a fictional town of Derry, lived a gang of young boys and a girl, called 'the Loser's club'. The loser's were unique in their own way. Dejected and frowned upon by the society and easy targets of bullies, the Losers shared a special bond with each other, the bond of belief. There is something more than mutual trust and belief that binds the group. It was the fact that they all knew a terrible secret.
In the town of Derry, somewhere exists a horrific entity, an alien being with superhuman abilities. This malevolent evil entity, simply referred to as 'IT' by the group, could take on any form one is most terrified of. If, for example, a kid is scared of werewolf, IT would appear as a werewolf, for someone it would appear as a mummy. IT is an evil being who feeds on children. The most common form it used to take was of a clown named Pennywise. The losers discover that Pennywise the clown has been there in Derry since the dawn of time. The evil 'IT' would feed on children, commit horrific murders, corrupt the minds of locals, gain strength by men's fears and then would go on hibernation for 27 years. It would return after 27 years to carry on the murderous rampage and mayhem. What is most terrifying is, no one else (I mean the grown ups) could see the real evil of IT. For other folks in town, its only a clown whom they would see often and then IT's evil influence would make them forget what happened 27 years ago. IT's favorite place is in the sewers and kids could hear him from their washbasins, near a water hole or in a gutter. He would carry balloons and in the form of Pennywise, he would often say 'we all float down here!'.
If you haven't read/watched the story of Stephen King's IT, you cannot call yourself a horror fan.
