How long does something like this take you!?
Reminds me of a combination of like a woodcut and graffiti.
For some reason I particularly like the way you made the eye and the tongue in this piece.
:P :)

ehm, not really sure how long stuff takes. i worked on this at work and i'm guessing it was over the course of 5 or 6 shifts of the last few weeks. (this roughly translates to about 6 or 7 pots of coffee :D) so guessing how many hours is hard to say cuz i get interrupted all the time by customers. it seems like it i did it pretty fast for me. most of the time i don't know what i'm drawing to start out with, and then, when the pencils are done, i have to figure out how i'm gonna ink it, style-wise. the whole process involves me feeling out the picture the whole way through. every line has its own character and i'm figuring out how they'll all fit together as i go. for instance the smoke edges have a much different feel to me compared to the shadows on the dude's hoodie. things like that i don't figure out beforehand; they just present themselves to me and i try to make them work. i hope to color this soon. its pretty busy and i'm hoping some color will clarify and distinguish the main points in it. :peace: talk atcha soon :)

he he coffee! :P :) =)
Sorry still trying to learn the Emotions!
I think that you are correct that color would definitely enhance the drawing.
As for the commentary on how you work, I am much the same way. I just feel everything out as I go. As for me a lot of my work, has a distinct look, I'm hoping to somehow kind of break out of my normal routine with drawings, and get a little bit more adventurous with my medium and their applications, and possibly even try more challenging subject matter. I often when I have been working draw during shifts to pass the time, I also find that it helps to make friends :)
Anyway, hope things are going well for you!
I'm excited. I got my fiance karate lessons for Christmas and he's going back to see his sensei today... I would like to take lessons myself but don't have the $ on me at the moment. Hoping possibly to get a part-time job here soon to afford some more stuff. Thinking of getting a book that Bruce Lee wrote though on Karate after seeing "Enter the Dragon" and possibly some equipment to fool around with. :meditate:
But I got an awesome digital camera for Christmas, so I'm really excited about that. I got some photos to upload here of Potter's Bridge. So I'll talk atcha later
take care
