About
iVista 2 IconPackager is based on gakuseisean's iVista 2 PNGs found here: [link]

Special Thanks
Thanks to gakuseisean for giving me permission to port them to IconPackager.

Extra Info
In the zip file I have included both the IconPackager file and 2 alternate icons just for an alternate look if you so desire it (both from gakuseisean's iVista 2 PNGs of course):
1. Alternate "My Computer" icon
2. Alternate "CD-Rom Drive" icon

Instructions for replacing icons
- Simply unzip and double click on the IconPackager file to install or open up IconPackager and install from there.

- To replace the My Computer icon with the alternate one included open up IconPackager, look for iVista 2 theme and load it. Then go to Icons and Cursors (tab on left) -> Desktop (tab on top) -> and drag and drop the alternate My Computer icon over the current one and click Apply.

- To replace the CD-Rom icon with the alternate one included open up IconPackager, look for iVista 2 theme and load it. Then go to Icons and Cursors (tab on left) -> Drives (tab on top) -> and drag and drop the alternate CD-Rom Drive icon over the current one and click Apply.

If anybody has any trouble or suggestions for this IconPackager file let me know.

I'm trying to adjust a few icons but I need them to be in .ico format.

When opening the .png's in Photoshop and resaving as icons, they look a bit skewed when using them.

How do I fix this so that they match up?

If I'm not mistaken, gakuseisean (the guy that made the iVista 2 PNGs) will be releasing them in icon format. I have turned them all into high quality icons myself but it is about 30mb and I can't upload that. Although some people have used PhotoShop for saving pngs as icons it is not the best and it does a poor job at it. The program I use is called Axialis IconWorkshop but you have to pay for it.

Are there any particular pngs that are not in the IconPackager file that you wanted to add? As for adjusting the current pack you can do the following:

1. Open IconPackager
2. Go to View -> Package Builder
3. Click Open and look for the iVista 2 theme folder (Should be in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\IconPackager\Themes) then open that folder and load the iVista 2 iconpackger file.
4. It should have loaded it into the Package Builder window, now click on Save As (not Save) and name it iVista 2 to wherever you want. The Save As arrow is to the right of the Save button.
5. Once you do this it will automatically create a folder named iVista 2 (or whatever you named it when saving as) and it will export all the icons found in the iVista 2 iconpackager file.

Hope this helps. If not I will see if I can upload the icons in groups sometime.

Well, that didn't answer the question but it did help me to solve the issue as the current theme is cached. :)

Thanks!

can i have help insalling please it say i need to use the web to find program or somethin
MrEyePatch's avatar
Sure. First of all the file I put here is in .zip format meaning you need a program that opens .zip to extract the contents inside. You can find a free program that does that called 7zip here: [link]

If extracting the program is not the problem then it is the IconPackager file inside. The only reason it would tell you it needs to use the web to find the program is because you do not have the program called IconPackager installed on your computer which is a software that you pay for and you can find it here: [link]

Unfortunately without that program you will not be able to use these icons. I hope I have been enough help. If you are still confused just write me back. :)
